Leafing Out

"Leafing Out" (not Flowering Out) was started in an on-line class with Ellen Lindner, which she calls "Design Your Own Nature Quilt". I chose a picture I had taken in our backyard to use as inspiration. I know the quilt looks like flowers, but it is meant to depict my "leafing out" into using some embellishments on a piece, sparkling sheers. Not much of a leap for some, but my basic guideline is "less is more", so it was a leap for me. The piece is raw edge applique, machine quilted, commercial fabrics and sheers.

Appologies

Having been reminded by several people that I have not updated my blog for some time, my New Year's resolution is to do some updating at least once a month, if not more! Thanks for any interest out there. 2010 is going to be a better year for me!

Effervescence

Here is the photo of "Effervescence" in progress. This piece was started in a class given by Melody Randol here in Colorado. She is a marvelous teacher and is very creative. She also
happens to be in my critique group. Lucky me! If anyone has any comments, I would be happy to see them.

Beginning Effervescences
Effervescences are what happen to me sometimes when I least expect them. In fact, it will be the title of a piece I've been working on for awhile (thanks, Diangelinis!). I will post a progress picture here soon. Then there are the times when I wake in the morning and have the perfect solution for a piece. Those are exciting times. Happy times! When I learn new techniques, those are effervescences for me also. Bubbling with ideas. I have been writiing Morning Pages and figured that I could write a blog also, so here we are.
I will write more anon.
